Extracting patterns that are hidden in plain sight.
A series of book covers for the Japanese zuihitsu classics – Essays in Idleness, The Ten Square Foot Hut and The Pillow Book.
Linear forms were extracted from everyday objects – hand-cut noodles, steamed eggs and foliage. Different line qualities – jagged angles, meandering curves, and intricate patterns – allude to the respective personalities of the three classics.
